Industrial Modernism & Engineered Form
The objects I photograph were designed to perform — to carry load, transfer force, contain pressure, and move. That their makers could not separate performance from form is the central fact of this work.
This is not a romantic view of industry from the outside. Ships, aircraft, and machines are not made to be photographed; they are made to work. Every part of their shape is there because an engineer decided it was needed. That need is what gives these objects their power.
Discipline as method. Clarity as intent.
Designed Objects collects ten photographs of engines, mechanisms, and vehicles. Projects holds work made on site, in shipyards, steel works, and museum collections.
